Out of the last five people to investigate the screams coming from the Lady Venin’s country estate, four disappeared and one lost his mind.
Author’s Note: This is part of the fantabulous, prodigious, wondrous, and awe-inspiring Linda G. Hill’s One-Liner Wednesday writing prompt. Click the link to check out the other one-liners. Then write one of your own. If you don’t, then the world will be cast into a thousand years of darkness. Or something.
Sounds like fun. Maybe after Christmas. ๐ Wish you hadn’t threatened with “or something”. ๐ฆ

It’ll be okay. The “or something” is just to cover my bases when nothing bad happens as a result of not writing a one-liner. ๐ฆ

Are you sure you spelt “basses” right?

Anything goes on One-Liner Wednesdays. Correct spilling is only an option.

My mistake. Thought you were trying to cover something else. lol

Hmmm, spooky and mysterious. Couid be a good lead-in for another story!

Technically all of these one-line short stories are lead-ins for longer ones. I won’t feel bad at all if they are taken and re-imagined by other people. Hint hint. Wink wink. Nudge nudge.

I’m going to treat this as an announcement that you are going to legoize at least one of these!

The one that lost his mind attempted to overcome the constant raving of the voices in his head by writing one liners for the equally mysterious but less screamy Linda G Hill.

Hahahaha! Less screamy. Hahahahaha!

As far as I’m concerned, Lady Venin is on her own. I’m a fantabulous scaredy cat. ๐

The name might be a possible clue as to what’s going on… ๐

It’s people! Yummy.๐ท๐
So, I have to ask: did the man literally lose his mind or figuratively?

Hmm, it being people is an interesting interpretation…
As for literal or figuratively, the Lady Venin has not told me anything. She has sworn me on my honor as a gentleman to keep some secrets.

If she’s keeping horrific secrets it would not be gentlemanly of you to keep them, especially if people’s lives are at steak…I mean stake.

That was a good pun. Someone should share that over at Charles’s blog. Hint. Hint.

I only came upon that pun because I recognized my mispelling. I don’t want people to get the idea that I’m good with puns! Lowering other’s expectations always works advantageously.
